PHOTOGRAPHS: Limited edition archival pigment prints, signed and numbered on museum quality paper. Images are also available mounted on other materials.
THEME: Kaleidoscope City: Visions of Duality shows unusual environments, people and activities in New York City. The series presents a range of urban subject matter from affectionate couples to political activists to holiday revelers. Capturing fleeting reality, the photographer attempts to impose visual order on a chaotic scene, creating a narrative that reveals mystery, astonishment, humor or humanity. The photographs are presented in pairs (diptychs).
TECHNIQUE: The first image of each diptych is a straightforward recording of physical reality whereas the second image of the same scene is like a hallucination that has been digitally enhanced. These dual visions — objective and subjective, rational and irrational — are presented together as a diptych, each affirming its own character and meaning.
