THEME: Individuals approach and pass through restricted, and sometimes claustrophobic, space – corridors, rooms, streets, and tunnels. The visual narrative movement is from a realm of shadows toward the brilliance of light. These moody images are grounded in realism, but verge on fantasy as form is reduced into a haze of light and color. The environments create metaphoric settings for a journey that ultimately leads to freedom and spirituality.
TECHNIQUE: Diffusion filters or slightly defocused lens, colored light gels, delayed exposures, and enhanced shadows and silhouettes to create a mysterious illusion.
